Brent Mullin or Moon as many called him, was a family man who excelled in all aspects of life.
Brent is survived by his wife Tania and his two sons Brandon & Nathan.
Brent Mullin first joined the PGA of Canada as an Apprentice Professional in 1992. In his early days with the Association, he worked as an assistant at various PGA of BC facilities, including Twin Lakes Golf Course, Summerland Golf & Country Club, and Eagle Point Golf & Country Club.
In 1997, he joined the Professional staff at Chilliwack Golf Club, eventually rising to the Head Professional position by 2003. It was here at Chilliwack that he inherited the nickname, “Moon”. A member of the club had fought alongside Brent’s grandfather in World War 2 and the nickname they had called him was Moon. The nickname was then passed to Brent and it stuck.
In 2006, Mullin relocated with his family to Kelowna and shifted his focus to sales by founding the Mullin Agency. He continued in this role, representing several reputable golf brands and product lines, including Tournament Sports, Bushnell Golf, Miller Golf of London and more. As a testament to his success in this sector of the industry, he was a two-time winner of the PGA of BC’s Sales Representative of the Year Award, earning the honour in 2009 and 2013.
Brent influenced many young minds from junior golfers to his professional colleagues and was very involved in the community. His son’s Brandon and Nathan both have a passion to play sports, and recently Brent took a trip of a lifetime to Europe to see his son compete in swimming. Many would say they would aspire to be the man he had become and is a role model we can all remember.
Sadly, Brent passed away in his sleep Jan.10th at the Central Okanagan Hospice. His genuine interest in others, compassionate caring attitude and unwavering support of family and friends will be missed by many but never forgotten.
